Frequently Asked Questions about Skip Bin Hire in Bendigo
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some frequently asked questions regarding skip bin hire, skip bin sizes and other common questions we receive here at Pig Bins.
The crew here at Pig Bins are an eco-conscious bunch so wherever possible we will sort and recycle what waste we can. We also offer discounted rates on 100% loads (clean fill, metal, green waste, bricks & concrete) because of their ease of recycling.
Q: What types of waste CANNOT go into a skip bin?
A: We are unable to provide skip bins for the removal of asbestos, fibre or asbestos based products; liquids, chemicals, gas cylinders or food waste. We CAN accept tyres, mattresses, couches & white goods but extra charges do apply.
Q: Are you able to place the skip bin on my nature strip?
A: Yes! We hold a roaming permit from the City of Greater Bendigo that allows to place our skip bins on nature strips within the region.
Q: What size skip bin will I need?
A: This is a very common question, but quite difficult to assess without seeing the waste that needs removal. But imagine a 1 metre high x 1 metre wide x 1 metre deep box, and whatever you could fit into that box would equal 1m³ of skip bin space. We have attached an image below to help demonstrate this better.
Q: How long do I get to fill the skip bin?
A: Our Bendigo mini skip hire is over a 7 (seven) day period, ensuring no matter when our customers hire a skip bin you'll always have a weekend to fill it. However, if you require the skip bin to be removed before 7 days or if you require more time to fill your skip bin please contact us on 1300 PIG BIN (1300 744 246). Additional fees may apply.
Q: How do we pay when hiring a skip bin from Pig Bins?
A: Payment for hire is required on delivery of the skip bin. We currently accept Cash, Eftpos or Credit Card, we are also able to invoice you on delivery if you prefer to use a bank transfer, please mention this at the time of booking.
Q: How far ahead do I need to book when hiring a skip bin in Bendigo?
A: Generally when you book before 11am we can deliver a Pig Bin to you the same day. However, to ensure availability we recommend booking your mini skip bin in advance.
Q: How high can we fill the skip bin and what happens if we go over?
A: All our skip bins are clearly labeled 'Do Not Fill Above Rim', and you are able to fill to the upper rim of the mini skip bin. To ensure safe travel and to comply with VicRoads load restraint guidelines we must be able to fix netting flush with the upper rim of the skip bin. If we deem the mini skip bin to be overloaded and unsafe for transport, our operators (where possible) will remove and stack any overloaded items neatly to the side of your site before removal of the skip bin.
Q: Which suburbs do you deliver skip bins to in Bendigo?
A: We service the Bendigo Region in Victoria with our Pig Bins Skip Hire. Jump to the link at the bottom of this page labelled 'Areas we Service' to ensure your suburb is listed.
